Rules/engagement:

For some time now I have tried to make sure we maintain this blog as a place that is friendly and open to most people who visit it. People that may be interested in exploring the question of meaning of life, religion, Christianity in particular and creating an environment that is conducive to free and fair exchanges of ideas. Where questions would be welcomed, challenge to logical inaccuracy would be accepted and opposite views would be welcomed but need to be stated in the way so that they don’t offend anyone deliberately. It has become increasingly obvious that I will have to do something to keep the standards higher. Therefore I have decided to include this page to instruct both new comers and existing visitors to what I consider to be civilised and acceptable behaviour.

  1. You may not insult anyone who visits this blog.
  2. You may not insult anyone who is published on this blog (That includes Videos that are posted here) but are allowed to demonstrate that his/her logic may be fallacious.
  3. You should try not to insult the host (This means Defend the Word) but this would be more tolerated than insults on anyone else. However even I have limits.
  4. You are invited to not use profanities.
  5. If you can’t find a better way than simplistic emotional blackmail then I would suggest thinking before you find a better rebuttal.
  6. You may speak out at any point you disagree with and if you feel that you know of a better way to explain a problem at hand then you are invited to share it with us.
  7. Treat others the way you would like to be treated!
  8. Stick with the topic in the Post otherwise we will see no end to our debate. Any questions that are not part of the original post discussion will be noted by the Blog author and may be addressed in a separate post.
  9. Keep your answers and questions to a minimum in order to help us to get back to you as soon as possible. Lengthy statements will be deleted when they are not part of the original debate and any assertions must be backed up by evidence otherwise this will make the work of the author much harder and due to time pressures I will have to prioritize.
  10. Bullet points and summarazation are encouraged wherever possible, quotes are acceptable but should not take too much space.
  11. Please refrain yourself from using technical language wherever possible as this blog is not about showing off how well we are educated.
  12. Whilst the main objective of this blog is to show to other Christians that our faith is reasonable, the sub objective is to challenge everyone to think for themselves.
  13. Please refrain from advertising other blogs and stick to the topic, that is unless you are using a quote that is relevant to the post.
  14. Please no ganging up against others.  You must show why you agree or disagree with someone and what points you agree / disagree with!

I think I want to order you series on Why I an not a 5 point Calvinist. I loved the selections on you tube. How do I order this? Will a dvd also play on a cd player for when I just want to listen? Please give me info on ordering. Thank God for you! You get your points across bold enough without compromising or in a bad way hurting Clavinists.

    Sincerely,

    Mike Bangs

  2. Hi Mike

This is a link from Dr Norman Geisler video and is taken from Youtube. You could download this directly to your PC. I am not aware if this exists on the DVD you may want to check that here

    http://www.normgeisler.com/store/default.htm

I am like you, a great admirer of Dr Geisler and have read some of his books I would also recommend you his book ”Chosen but free” which deals with this topic specifically. He does call himself Calvinist but does obviously not accept the 5 point of Calvinism. He has been called Armenian theologian but I think his view is to find middle ground and avoid the extremes at both ends of the argument.

    Kind regards

Hey there, I just finished writing a paper over Mr. Geisler’s sermon “5 Reasons Why I’m Not a 5 Point Calvinist”, but I couldn’t comment on the page where you have the videos. I was hoping to share that with you. If you would like to read it, it is here: http://oh-mag.com/2013/11/08/5-reasons-why-im-not-a-5-point-calvinist-a-biblical-response/
    Thanks for your time 🙂

  4. Hi Kirsty

Sorry I did not come back to you any earlier, due to extra commitments I have been neglecting my blog in the last few months. My Apology I will try and check this more often.

    Kind regards
